Dr Ahearne has over 20 years management and manufacturing engineering experience in industry (Donnelly Mirrors Ltd. and Green Isle Foods Ltd.), and 14 years experience as senior lecturer and researcher at University College Dublin. His research interest is in high precision machining processes for advanced materials. He is an Associate member of CIRP; the International Academy for Production Engineering.
